You’ve no doubt heard about the prolific rain we’ve had this winter. I am often asked if all this water will cause problems in the vineyards. While it is startling to see some vineyards under water, it is important to remember that grapevines are dormant in winter. An additional plus for us in that our hillside locations provide excellent water drainage. By the time spring comes along, all this excess water will either be absorbed or on its way to our local streams and rivers. Rainwater is filling our reservoirs, ponds, and aquifers, giving our communities and agriculture land the water it needs to thrive.
